Boquerones Crostini

Boquerones                            

  • butter - as needed                    

  • 8 anchovy fillets (boquerones)                                

  • olive oil - as needed                        

  • l lemon                                

Directions: Preheat an oven to 375F. Slice the baguette on a bias in 1/2" slices. Drizzle with olive oil, then bake in the oven until golden, about 7-10 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool to room temperature. Spread a generous amount of butter on each slice of baguette, then top with one anchovy fillet. Once all pieces are assembled, zest a lemon over the top of all of the pieces. Then cut the lemon open and squeeze a small amount of juice over the pieces.
